Created by hand from sterling silver sheet and wire using traditional silvermithing techniques 

This opal is a vintage Lightning Ridge doublet purchased some time ago from an eccentric old lady, who would drive the bumpy roads to the opal feilds in her old Mercedes-Benz. 
Modern doublets are cut very thin and by laser, which tend to break when set in rings. This opal doublet has been cut by hand and is thick, strong and beautiful.

For extra protection, this opal has been set with a thick silver ring around the setting.  

The band has been cut by hand and planished to give that sparkling beaten look every loves.
